Randy Travis Files Federal Suit to Block His Arrest Video

Posted by carolyn ellis on 2017/09/13

Randy Travis filed a lawsuit in federal court on Sunday to prevent footage of his 2012 DWI arrest from going public.  The filing argues that the video's release to the public would violate federal privacy and disability laws.  The arrest took place August 7, 2012 in Tioga, Texas, after police responded to the scene of a single car collision and found Randy drunk and incoherent. He had also faced charges of retaliation and obstruction after officers alleged that he had verbally threatened one of the responders.  Randy accepted a plea bargain and plead guilty to driving while intoxicated in exchange for authorities dropping the retaliation and obstruction charges.
