Trisha Yearwood Celebrates Her 20th Opry Anniversary

Posted by carolyn ellis on 2019/03/14

It was 20 years ago, March 13, 1999, when Trisha Yearwood was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry by Porter Wagoner. A number of artists were on hand to help Trisha celebrate that milestone last night at the Opry. Ricky Skaggs - who surprised her with the invitation 20 years ago, Emmylou Harris - who Trisha cites as her musical hero and her husband Garth Brooks were all there. Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire and Brenda Lee all sent video messages. Trisha performed a cover of Patsy Cline's "Sweet Dreams", "Wrong Side of Memphis", a duet with Ricky on "Two Highways", a duet with Garth on "Whiskey to Wine", and "She's in Love With the Boy".
