Oshawa Art Association 29th Annual Fall Art Festival

The Oshawa Art Association's 29th Annual Fall Art Festival is a great outing family outing! This is a weekend long event happening today from 10-5PM as well as Saturday, September 18th & Sunday, September 19th with free admission. This show and sale of fine art includes original painting and prints in all media and hand-painted china. The show features 66 award winning local artists in a unique setting in the log cabin at Camp Samac Council Hall. A lunch counter selling homemade soup, sandwiches and lots of treats will tempt you! Come learn about nature from the experts! There will be lots of fun for the whole family today from 9AM-3:30PM when you come out to the 'Beavers & Butterflies Nature Festival' and enjoy some exciting wildlife activities! Tickets for adults are $5, kids tickets are $2, and families are $10. All proceeds will support Thickson Woods Nature Reserve. Join the friends of Doug Whyte in the family soccer tournament in his memory today from 10AM-5:30PM. Doug passed away suddenly on May 12, 2010 at the age of 35 while playing soccer. Doug was very active in the men's adult soccer community. This event is to honour Doug and remember the warm hearted social man he was. Proceeds from the tournament will go towards the Doug Whyte Memorial Fund which will be used to support youth soccer in Durham Region and in particular families who need financial assistance to enroll their
children in soccer. This is a family event, so there will also be fun activities such as a men's soccer tournament,
