Laura Murphy claims that she and her husband were denied entrance to Jason Aldean's Kitchen + Rooftop Bar because of his race. TC Restaurant Group, which owns the restaurant and other Nashville hotspots, have promised an investigation and action. Laura says that they were waiting in line at the restaurant on November 1, when her husband, who is black, was stopped by a bouncer and told her couldn't come in because he was wearing a hoodie. Laura says her husband asked if he could just take it off and was told no and that he had to leave. She also said that three other black men were turned away for a dress code violation, but they watched as several white customers walked out wearing hoodies. "We asked them if they were asked to leave and they all said no, they had been there for hours. We also watched two white men be allowed to enter by removing their hoodies," she adds. The situation got worse when they had a conversation with the bouncer, which led to a confrontation with a manager who reportedly ran after the group, screaming at them. There have been several updates about this, including news that the restaurant's third party security service owner called and apologized and acknowledged the incident.
