The CCMA awards were handed out last night in Calgary. In January 2020, look for Ronnie Dunn's new project, Re-Dunn. It will feature a number of country and rock cover songs that have impacted his life and career. There will be 24 tracks on the album including covers of hits by George Strait, Tom Petty, Lee Ann Womack, Van Morrison and more. "This is a passion project for me. If you put together a group of songs that define the soundtrack of my life, this is what it would look like," he said in a press release.
Florida Georgia Line have plans to release a collection of acoustic versions of some of their biggest hits. The Acoustic Sessions is set to be released on October 18. There will be eight tracks on the album including "Cruise", "Round Here", "Stay", "Get Your Shine On", "Sippin' on Fire", "Sun Daze", "Dirt" and "Talk You Out of It".
Curtis Rempel and his wife, Myranda, shared the good news Friday on High Valley's Twitter account that they are expecting their third child. He posted a video that shows his wife holding a balloon and their two children, Ben and Millie June, popping the balloon to reveal the baby's gender. Pink confetti exploded from the balloon, much to big brother Ben's delight, because he doesn't want to share his room.
Maddie & Tae will release their new EP, Everywhere I'm Goin', on October 18. The duo co-wrote all 5 songs on the project, with co-writers including Josh Thompson, Dave Barnes and Taylor's fiance, Josh Kerr.
Brantley Gilbert is hitting the road this winter for his Fire't Up Tour. The tour kicks off January 23 and will continue for 30 dates. The name comes from a track on Brantley's next album, Fire & Brimstone, which is being released on October 4. The tour will make a stop at the Tribute Communities Centre on January 24.
Caylee Hammack has scored a spot opening for Miranda Lambert on the fall leg of her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour. She was so nervous the first time she met Miranda, she wasn't sure she was even going to be able to say hello. "I sat there for a moment panicking," Caylee says. "Finally, I introduced myself. She was so very sweet. It was like a little girl's dream." Caylee remembers gowing up and listening to "Kerosene" when she first started singing. "She was strong. She was independent. She was a woman breaking through the market," she said about Miranda. "Being able to go on tour with someone I looked up to, it's unreal." The fall tour will start September 13.
Darius Rucker will be joining Team Blake for the upcoming season of The Voice. He will be advising Blake's team of competitors. Darius, who promises that Blake's Team will win, says he and his family watch the show all of the time and he is a fan of Blake's honesty with his contestants. The 17th season of The Voice gets started on September 23.
