Darius Rucker is a big fan of golf and now he is the newest ambassador for golf equipment company PXG. "He is already doing great things for golf through his relationship with the PGA Tour and I know he will do great things for PXG too," says Founder/CEO Bob Parsons. Darius said, " I have a tremendous amount of respect for Bob - who he is, what he has accomplished and how he operates his businesses. I particularly love what he has done for the game of golf since launching PXG. It's unlike anything I've ever experienced."
Sam Hunt was scheduled to play at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards December 5 in Nashville, but because of his arrest for DUI he has pulled out of his featured spot. Chris Janson will be replacing Sam at the event. "I'm thrilled to be bringing my music to the NASCAR celebration in Nashville," Chris said. "We love NASCAR, the drivers and the fans. It's going to be a good time!"
Jason Aldean and his family are waiting for their dream home to be built, so they are in between homes right now. They are living in a house owned by Kane Brown rent free while the construction continues on their mansion. When he was asked about his plans for Thanksgiving, Jason said, "Typically we always do our family Thanksgiving at our house, but we're in the process of building our house, so we're living in a rental house right now. We're living in Kane Brown's old house right now."
Tenille Townes is headed to New York to take part in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday along with Chris Young and Chris Janson. "I've never been in the parade before, so, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, here I come," she shared with excitement. "I'll be singing "Somebody's Daughter - 90 seconds of it anyway." When Tenille was asked about the cold weather, she said it wouldn't be a problem. "I'm from Canada. I got this," she said. "I'll be ready, I'll have my little palm warmers, my mitts and I'll be ready to go."
Zac Brown Band has been working on a new version of "Chicken Fried" for the NFL's Thanksgiving coverage. The song will be used as the introduction for the game between the Falcons and the Saints.
Maddie & Tae's Maddie Marlow and Jonah Font got married Friday at the Barn at Sycamore Farms, which is just south of Nashville. They said their vows in front of 150 friends and family members. Maddie's sister Camy was her maid of honour and Jonah's older brother, Justin, was his best man. The couple exchanged traditional vows, but wrote letters to each other to read privately. They will spend their honeymoon in the Bahamas. "I'm looking forward to more adventures, more memories and our love to just keep growing stronger and stronger," Maddie says. "We definitely want to have kids one day, but for now we are just going to enjoy each other and keep making amazing memories."
Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay were multiple award winners at the American Music Awards last night. Carrie won Favourite Female Country Artist and Favourite Country Album for "Cry Pretty". Dan + Shay picked up awards for Favourite Country Duo or Group and Favourite Country Song for "Speechless". Kane Brown was named Favourite Male Country Artist.
Alabama's Randy Owen was surprised to be presented with the CMA Foundation's Humanitarian Award. He was brought to the event under the guise of presenting radio vet Lon Helton with an industry honour. Randy and his wife Kelly went to the reception November 19th, where Lon took to the stage to present Randy with the Humanitarian Award. His efforts include starting Country Cares, which has raised more than $875 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He is also involved in a number of endeavors, including tornado and hurricane relief efforts. "I'm truly surprised and grateful for this award," says Randy. "Hopefully, this will inspire other artists to follow their hearts to help the down and out, the helpless and especially sick children and families in need. I am so grateful to my longtime friend Lon Helton for presenting me with this award."
