Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd are about to become parents for the first time toward the end of March. During her pregnancy Maren has learned a few things. One of which is the following, "I would say for expecting mothers out there that may I wish somebody had told me is that you don’t need to rush into anything. You don’t need to do any of the stereotypical things baby books tell you to do. I think like it’s your journey, it’s no one else’s."
Over the last few years Sam Hunt's career has taken off. It's also meant moving away from his hometown in Georgia to living in Nashville. In that time he's met and made lots of new friends, and he admits that's great and those new friends are important to him. However, when it comes down to it his old friends are gold to him. Sam says, "I’ve made a lot of new friends and met a lot of new people who are important to me as I’ve moved away from my hometown, but that core group is still that core group and will always be. It’s like that old saying, ‘You can’t make new old friends.'”
Garth Brooks is an icon. There are many who would totally agree with that statement. But, just in case anyone was on the fence about it Garth is going to receive the Icon Award at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards in Vegas, April 29th. He is the niinth to receive the award. Mariah Carey was given the award last year.
Luke Bryan's sons are enjoying the perks that come along with his job. One of his sons was really impressed when they got fast passes at Hershey Park. "I was playing at Hershey Park and, you know, we get the fast passes," Luke shared. "Tate's just bouncing off the walls. He finally is 52 inches, which was a huge deal because he'll ride any roller coaster on the planet Earth. And he got on one roller coaster and he said, 'Oh my gosh, Dad, I'm so glad you're Luke Bryan.' It was a pretty cute moment."
Carrie Underwood was pretty emotional when she was presented with a plaque certifying Cry Pretty as Platinum. She was surprised by her record label team at an event at CRS in Nashville last week. "This means a lot because I feel like this is the album that I've done that is the most me," she said. "And the fact that you guys were supporting me the whole way and didn't laugh at me when I said I wanted to produce this and were with me the whole way, I'm humbled and honoured and God is good." Cry Pretty is her third album to go Platinum.
Maddie & Tae's Tae Dye and songwriter/producer Josh Kerr got married Friday in Nashville. The couple started out as friends and had been writing music together before they ever became a couple, and Tae says that both their writing and romantic relationships just feel natural.
Dan + Shay's Shay Mooney and his wife, Hannah, welcomed their second child, a baby boy, on February 21st. Ames Alexander Mooney weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces and, according to the couple, he is "absolutely perfect." They are also parents to 3-year-old Asher James.
Tim McGraw is returning to Big Machine Label Group, which was his label from 2013-2017. The announcement was made on Friday. "I am so proud to welcome Tim McGraw back home to Big Machine Records," BMLG founder and CEO Scott Borchetta tells Billboard. "We can't wait to jump back into the mix with Tim and his great team and get his incredible new music out to the world." Tim recently left Sony Music Entertainment, the label he signed with, along with his wife Faith Hill, in February of 2017.
