Jelly Roll says that up until he lost almost 300 pounds he was colourblind.

Colourblindness that is inherited will never go away,  but if it's caused by health issues it can improve over time if the health issues do, according to the National Eye Institute. Jelly says that he could see general colour but "never realized there was nuances and prettiness." He realized that his situation has changed about nine months into his weight loss journey, when he noticed a purple flower on his property. He asked his wife how long the purple tulip had been there, and she responded with two years. Jelly says he realized over the next few days that he was seeing colours clearer for the first time in 20 years.
