When Jelly Roll was officially inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday night he was wearing a very special piece of jewellery.
Prior to the ceremony, John Carter Cash came backstage and presented Jelly with a box. Inside was Johnny Cash's gold cross necklace. He said, "I got something of my father's I think that he would want you to wear." John told him that it was his father's favourite piece of jewellery, but he was sure about giving it to him. Jelly Roll's redemption story has really caught the attention of the Cash family. Jelly wore the necklace as he became the 77th active member of the Opry. Lainey Wilson did the honours three months after Craig Morgan gave him the invitation.
