One of the most enlightening moments happened when Maren wasn't expecting it. Thinking she was going into a sound bath, she discovered a third-generation healer who approached her and told her: "You aren’t using your voice big enough. You’re hiding. Stop wearing your sunglasses when you talk to people. Stop wearing so much black. Your soul is tired and it’s time for your giant leap. Happiness is on the other side. I’m not your healer, you are.”

Maren shared what her time in Bali meant, writing, "Bali chewed me up and spat me back out in the most profound way. I quit apologizing for taking that nourishing time, fed my tired soul with new conversations, laughs, heaving sobs, personal promises that I’ll keep and sometimes break, then will start over again because there’s no wrong way to try."
