The Mavericks have revealed their new lead singers and plans to tour this year, after the death of lead singer Raul Malo December 8, 2025.

In a post on Instagram, the Mavericks thanked their fans for the support. "We know that we can never replace Raul...but we can still, in bold spirit, continue to play this joyous music, and celebrate The Mavericks' legacy together," the post reads. Two new singers will help them do that. One had a huge country hit in 2008. The other came second on season nine of America's Got Talent in 2014. James Otto and Emily West will front the band on tour this summer and fall. James Otto had a number one hit with "Just Got Started Lovin' You" and Emily West recorded "Blue Sky," a duet with Keith Urban. The Music Lives On Tour begins July 17th in Kansas City and runs until November.
