Jameson Rodger is involved in a personal injury lawsuit after he allegedly hit a fan with a full beer can while performing at New Jersey's Barefoot Country Music Festival in June 2022.

The lawsuit was first filed in May 2024. It only made the news recently after an appeals court ruled that Sony Music - Jameson's label and one of the defendants listed in the lawsuit - must remain involved. They were trying to remove themselves as a defendant on the grounds that the label doesn't have any jurisdiction over the festival or security proceedings. But the court said that Sony will continue to be a defendant because Jameson could be determined to be acting as an "agent" of his label during his performance. The lawsuit was filed by Samantha Haws after she was struck by a can of Miller Lite that Jameson was throwing into the crowd. She says that it hit her "violently and without warning in the head and facial area," and caused "severe painful and permanent bodily injuries."
