Scotty McCreery lost both of his grandmothers hours apart this week.

His mom's mother, Janet, died on Wednesday and then hours later his father's mom, Paquita, passed away as well. Scotty confirmed the news in a post on social media Thursday afternoon. "My heart is absolutely broken," he says. "I think I am still in a bit of shock as I type this, but I'm choosing to remember the great memories we all made with both of them." Janet who was 85 had been battling norovirus and the flu. Paquita was 93 years old and had been in declining health.
